and also the wind
(float magazine)
I travel by taking my time, to feel and become a part of the place.
Wake up every morning at the same place for a while and observe the humor and the different faces of my direct surrounding.
This photo serie is really particular for me as I was staying at this time in a valley close to the ocean, on the west coast in Norway, and I felt more than usual, the power of the elements who were all around me.
As I shoot only with analog, I was trying a really old paxette, fully manual, and a friend from the area gave to me all her expired films rolls. The effect and the grain on the serie is reflecting perfectly the feeling you have over there. Its like you are permanently swim into the mist, you are affected by the telluric forces who are really strong in this valley, and where the elements complement and oppose at the same time. And as a human, you feel really really small.
The wind is one of the elements who were even more powerfull than the other. The one you cannot see, the one you cannot photograph, but the one you feel deeply, going throw your bones and whipping your face. The breath from the cold north.
